Dear Hook Family,

A little over a year ago (7th February, 2016), my husband suddenly fell ill and went into coma for 8 days. It was a difficult time for our family.

Our church family here at Hook came together to pray for us, and supported us in various practical ways. The outpour of love and compassion was really genuine and just amazing! We received countless emails and text messages of encouragement, visits, and well-wishing cards.

God in His great mercy heard our prayers and brought my husband back to life – much to our joy and delight, but to the astonishment of the doctors and nurses at Saint Mary’s hospital – Paddington, who thought my husband wouldn’t be able to pull through without suffering a brain damage. Our God knows best! Once He heals you, He heals you completely.

My husband is well and very much alive, and to the glory of God he is 50 years old today! Halleluyah!!

We would like to thank God for His amazing grace, and for each and every one of you for your prayers, support, compassion and genuine love. We are truly grateful, and God richly bless you.

We are particularly grateful to the many people who especially helped us, and to those folks who kept our children with you whilst we navigated our way through the storm to the hospital. Our special thanks to everyone who was at the prayer night that Wednesday to pray their hearts out to God for my husband. God bless you! We are so grateful to everyone in this church.

As a token of our appreciation, we would like you to share in some cakes and other bits and favours that we have brought in today. My husband is not one for birthdays and fanfares (he doesn’t like drawing attention to himself) so it’s just a little something to share with you. We hope that you will stay after the morning service to have some tea and coffee in the back hall.

Thank you and God bless.
