SMALL GROUP DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

TEXT: Various

DATE: Wednesday 20th March 2019

At our elders study morning the other week we discussed how easy it is to ask one another about our church-tasks and our church-rota-duties, and neglect asking one other about our Christian life, our souls.  It is easy to come to church with a “tick-box” mentality: “I must see so & so to see if they have done this/that or if they can do this/that”; instead of an “encouragement” mentality: “I must see so & so to find out how they are and to encourage them.”

Look at the following references and see what they have to teach us about relating to one another in fellowship.

A/ John 13v31-38

  1. What is going on in this passage?

  2. What is the “one another” here?

  3. What does Jesus say about this “one another”?

B/ Romans 12v9-16

  1. There are three “one another’s” in this passage: what are they and what do they mean?

  2. What would keeping these “one another” commands look like in church life?

C/ Colossians 3v12-17

  1. There are two “one another’s” in this passage: what are they and what do they mean?

  2. What would keeping these “one another” commands look like in church life?
